Hello, I am Michelle and am known to my many in Llandudno as the owner of the Brian Bates Hair Salon, a family business since the 1980’s, prior to which it was owned and run by Brian Bates himself.  Having established a reputation for quality styling and value for money we chose to retain his name in the title whilst moving forward and creating our own reputation and style. Hair stylists today of course need to be masters of many techniques all of which change as constantly as the weather in Llandudno.

Today we at the Brian Bates Salon cater for the wishes of both ladies and gentlemen young and old, just passing through or regular customers and friends over the years, and how things have changed since Brian Bates was in charge! Now we now offer human hair extensions which are becoming increasingly popular and we are aware that the allergies some people have to foodstuffs also applies to hair treatments.  So, we advise that via Colourstart, we apply an allergy indicator which identifies whether a customer may be allergic to PPD a chemical used in permanent hair dye.  Applied to the skin, it is the only test available and it gives a safe, painless indication of a potential problem.  Without the test, someone trying the dye for the first time might find themselves in severe discomfort with a swelling of the skin and even blistering.  Not very nice but now, at the Brian Bates salon easily avoided.

There is a small staff of five here and the Brian Bates Salon is open six days per week.  Not only is hair a very individual thing with no two people wanting to see precisely the same result but our customers themselves are individuals with differing pressures and timetables.  Our many regular customers know we will work with them to diffuse this problem and either open early or stay open later just to help them.

Tinting, dyeing, styling, all using the most up to date techniques, the Brian Bates Salon continues to provide today what Brian Bates himself established all those years ago with friendly quality attention, flexibility, care, the latest techniques and an overall service unmatched elsewhere.  Dare we say that once you have visited us at the Brian Bates Salon there will be no permanent parting!
